Algo Más worked with the developers of the Norwood Green project on Magill Road in late 2019 to develop, write and design a new 16-page street magazine called heart&soul.
The aim of the free magazine was to showcase the vibrant Norwood community and softly introduce the Norwood Green brand. The magazine was designed and art directed by David English, written by Briony Petch and account managed by Monique Whicker.
We identified that there was a gap in the market for a street magazine that focused solely on the features and benefits of living in Norwood. The magazine included an update on the progress of the Norwood Green development, details of upcoming local events and showcased the best spots to meet, greet and eat. It also showcased the many fantastic retail outlets within close proximity to Norwood Green and featured articles on sustainability in design and ‘green’ living.
The established Norwood Green visual style was pushed further to evoke an even more engaging, street-level feel and the result was met with a great response.
heart&soul was delivered to surrounding residents and local businesses with copies also made available from the Norwood Green Display Centre. The street magazine will be produced bi-annually with next magazine due to be published in mid 2020. Read an online version of the first edition here.
Community engagement is a key success strategy for Norwood Green and we are actioning this in various ways with developers Buildtec Group and CatCorp. In addition to the street magazine, activities also include regular food and wine events as well as quarterly markets held at the Norwood Green Display Centre and Warehouse.
